ICC World Cup 2019: Rift Between Virat Kohli and his Deputy Rohit Sharma?

As India had faced a shocking exit at the ICC World Cup 2019 by losing in the semi-final against New Zealand on July 10, the speculation is rife that everything is not fine between Team India skipper Virat Kohli and his limited-overs deputy Rohit Sharma, according to a Hindi daily, Dainik Jagran.

The reports suggested that there’s a rift between Kohli and Rohit.

So much so, while talking about discontent, the reports of factions have already left many worried including the die-hard fans

Also, the reports suggested that both the factions are close to Kohli and Rohit. Jagran in its statement, further claimed that Virat Kohli is listening to chief coach Ravi Shastri and bowling coach Bharat Arun respectively.

Besides, it explained that Kohli has his preferred favourites.

With reports of rift emerging from the team, the Men in Blue gave a lot to cheer up to its fans in the twelfth edition of the World Cup.

Recently, Rohit had emerged as the top run-getter in the ODI showpiece. He amassed 648 runs in nine matches at an average of 81, whereas Kohli, has slammed 443 runs in as many games.

According to the latest report, the rift is yet to reach a point where things might fall off. In between, the coaching received a 45-day extension.

“Virat Bhai is performing great with the bat but when will this coach and bowling coach leave?”, Dainik Jagran quoted a player.

If the recent activities will be taken into consideration, the duo seemed to have shared a good bond. In fact, they’ve shared a laugh while batting alongside each other while partaking in the marquee event.

Last year, the reports of discontent between both star players had caused a stir among fans. Apparently, back then, Rohit had unfollowed Kohli on social media platforms.

Furthermore, the reports suggested that head coach Shastri had led to independent decisions.

Also, by not taking other seniors into confidence, Shastri reportedly had preferred Vijay Shankar in spite of Ambati Rayudu as the No. 4 batsman.

However, following a repeated snub, Rayudu had announced retirement from the international fold.
