On Tuesday, yet another illustrious stat has been added to the hat of the Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma. He became the first Indian to smash 4 centuries in a single edition of the tournament. Meanwhile, his new opening partner, KL Rahul makes his voice on the class displayed by Rohit Sharma against Bangladesh.
In the current world cup, Rohit hit a hundred in India’s first match against South Africa. He then carried his form in the game against Pakistan and slammed a century versus the arch-rivals as well.
Next, he registered a ton in the game against England but unfortunately, India lost that match by 31 runs. This was the first instance in the Cricket World Cup that a century from Rohit Sharma’s bat had gone in vain.

You would be a fool to tempt to bat like Rohit Sharma – KL Rahul
Speaking of the century against Bangladesh, KL Rahul revealed that the pitch wasn’t that easy to bat on but the class of Rohit Sharma made it feel easy from the outside. Further, he went on to add saying that Sharma is playing on a different planet, which is tough to match.
KL Rahul also quoted that wanting to play like Rohit Sharma will be foolish. He sees Rohit Sharma as a unique talent and feels that it would be like barking on a wrong tree if anyone tries to bat like Rohit Sharma.
“You would be a fool to be tempted to bat like Rohit because he is in a different class. He is on a different planet altogether when he gets going. He made it look really easy when really it wasn’t anything of the kind. The pitch was two-paced, up and down, not coming on to the bat, but from the way he played you would not have known.”

“We expect it from him and he is delivering every time,” said Rahul. “To bat with him is really easy because he takes the pressure off you. He keeps getting the boundaries and the scoreboard keeps ticking, I just have to keep there with him. It is great fun,” Kl Rahul told reporters at Edgbaston.
