Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed is optimistic of the fact that the Men in Green will beat India for the first time in a World Cup match when the two teams lock horns in the 2019 World Cup. The arch-rivals will play each other on 18th June at the Old Trafford and without a doubt, it will be one of the biggest games of the showpiece event.
Pakistan has never managed to win a World Cup match against the Men in Blue. However, after defeating them in the 2017 Champions Trophy final in England, Pakistan will be hopeful repeating the act in similar conditions in the upcoming World Cup.
During an interview with Saleem Khaliq, a Pakistani journalist, Sarfaraz Ahmed revealed that to go a long way in the World Cup, Pakistan needs to play against all oppositions and not only concentrate on India. However, he did accept the fact any match against India is a big game and they are always upbeat to beat their arch-rivals just like their fans always hope for.

During the interview, Sarfaraz Ahmed further revealed that an Indo-Pak clash is the most discussed match in the showpiece event and the fans meeting the players either in the market place or elsewhere always asks them to win the match against India. Sarfaraz added that he tries to make the fans understand that as a skipper his job is to ensure that his team plays good cricket against all teams and not only India.
Imran Khan, the former Pakistan cricket skipper and currently the Prime Minister of his nation remains the only Pakistan skipper to lead his nation to a World Cup triumph in 1992. When asked whether Imran Khan gave him some tips before the showpiece event, Sarfaraz Ahmed stated he received some important advice from Imran Khan. He further quipped that Imran Khan was very motivational and spoke about his experience of playing in England.

The 2019 World Cup will definitely be the biggest cricketing event of the year and all the 10 teams will stand a chance of lifting the coveted title. Hosts England and India will be the top contenders for the tournament. However, teams like Australia, South Africa and Pakistan can also spring in a surprise or two.
