ICC World Cup 2019: Team India to Don ‘Orange’ Jersey in Away Fixtures?
Team India led by Virat Kohli has flown to the United Kingdom in the wee hours of 22nd May, in a bid to partake in the impending ICC World Cup 2019. However, much to our surprise they could don the orange colour dominated jersey in their away games of the quadrennial event.
Meanwhile, the World Cup will commence from May 30 when hosts England will take on South Africa in London. Besides, India’s World Cup campaign will get underway on June 5 against the Proteas in Southampton.
Following a much hype, the jersey is yet to be released for India’s away games against the Three Lions and Afghanistan respectively during the much-awaited ten-nation tournament.
India and Orange Jersey at the ICC World Cup 2019:
To be precise, the world cricket governing body International Cricket Council (ICC) reportedly has decided to mark the beginning of the home and away concept.
Pertinently, the already has already engaged the soccer world in the recent past.
Meanwhile, Kohli-led side will face Gulbadin Naib-led side on June 22 before wrestling with England on May 30.
Interestingly, the concept has also applied by Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) led by Kohli himself. While donning overall red jersey, RCB players prefer green jersey while playing One-off game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
However, the conception of wearing green is all about the “Go Green” initiative.
Hosts England has their preferred colour blue alongside, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
According to the report India has to opt for a bit different colour against hosts. On the other side, Pakistan, South Africa and Bangladesh have green as their preferred colour, which means they’ve to look out for other options during away games.
Given the possibilities, the orange-dominate jersey most probably could witness a dark blue in the front portion. However, the orange colour will be on the jersey’s back portion apart from the sleeves.
However, in overall games except for England and Afghanistan, India will don their traditional jersey. Moreover, they will take on the Lankan side as hosts.
