Over the years, the Indian National Cricket Team has always worn Blue-coloured Jersey in the limited overs format. It seems like they are going to change the colour of it for the game against England, which is scheduled to be played on June 30th.
As per the new ICC rules, two teams cannot wear the same colour kit in a televised game. Only the host, in this case, England, can wear their original colour.
India’s blue kit which comes with a shade of orange is now expected to be reserved, which will see the primary Blue colour change to orange. India is expected to wear their new kit in all the away ODI matches against England.
Meanwhile, one of the executives revealed that the players aren’t aware of the new kit until the last week. In between, a few of the stakeholders have expressed a few doubts regarding the change of the colour.
Indian players aren’t aware of new Jerseys:
As per the new rule, the game between Bangladesh and Pakistan must also see the change of jersey to one of the teams, as they both wear Green-Coloured Jerseys. Well, as per the latest law, India will wear a new Jersey for all the games against England in Away matches.
“Till last week, the Indian players had not seen their new jerseys,” a senior industry executive revealed.
“There is still confusion among various stakeholders whether the team would actually need to don new colours. For instance, the Pakistan team has been exempted from changing their familiar green although there are teams as Bangladesh, which too, wear green,” he added.
However, so far, most of the teams in the World Cup have revealed their away kit, with South Africa wearing a predominantly yellow strip against Bangladesh, while Bangladesh added more red to their green. The teams like Australia, New Zealand and Windies will play with same Jerseys, as they are unique.
