Team India skipper Virat Kohli is unlucky after walking off during the 48th over of India’s innings at the Manchester against Pakistan at the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019.

The incident unfolded when Mohammad Amir bowled a short delivery. The rising delivery saw Kohli opted for the pull shot, but the sound from the bat has forced Kohli to walk off the ground before straight umpire Marais Erasmus nodded his head.

Kohli’s decision to walk off had somewhat benefited Pakistan to some extent as replays showed the top-order batsman didn’t edge the ball before Sarfraz Ahmed gathered the ball.

Because Kohli’s dismissal has slowed down India’s innings at the fag end of the first essay.

As soon as the snicko showed no edge, Team India fans were left disappointed before Kohli learnt where the sound came from his loose bat handle. It eventually cut short his fine innings off 65-ball 77.

However, in the changeroom, Kohli wore a gloomy. He checked his bat’s handle before MS Dhoni also had a close look at Kohli’s willow.

The right-handed batsman Kohli has slammed seven fours during his high-quality innings.

Meanwhile, Kohli, who has displayed great sportsmanship, while walking on his own. However, Pakistan celebrated his wicket after finding a tough time early on.

Earlier, India after losing the toss were asked to bat first. The Men in Blue rode on Rohit Sharma’s 24th ODI hundred by helping India to post the highest total of 336 for five against Pakistan at the World Cup.

Rohit alongside KL Rahul recorded 136 runs for the first wicket. Rohit managed 140 off just 113 balls with the help of 14 fours and three sixes. Rahul made things count in Shikhar Dhawan’s absence. He posted 78-ball 57 after a cautious start.

For, Pakistan, Amir has bagged three wickets after conceding  47 in his quota of ten overs.
