Virat Kohli- Key To India
Virat Kohli has been the backbone of India across formats for almost six years now. He is known for his consistency and broke numerous records on his way to captaincy. Post becoming the captain of India, his form only soared.
He led the team by example and India are pretty much top across all the three formats. Although he won the tournament already, he aspires to win the World Cup this term as a skipper. He has got all the means to win it with a pretty good balanced team.
India are considered one of the strong favorites to win the tournament besides hosts England. Credit to the way Virat & Co., are playing, many consider that India have a good chance of bringing the coveted trophy home after 2011.
Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan will bear the brunt of batting responsibilities. India have traditionally relied on their top three to make runs. The same has been the case during 2017 Champions Trophy, when they reached the finals.
Although, packed with match winners, India will still rely on the brilliance on Virat Kohli yet again. It remains to be seen if Virat Kohli’s injury is just a precaution. If he misses some action in world cup, then fans will hope to see him back in action as early as possible.
India will take on South Africa on June 5 at Ageas Bowl and then will be playing against Australia on coming Sunday.
