Zing bails have become the hot topic in the International Cricket at present. They are making things tough for the current fast bowlers, as they are hesitating to get out of their grooves. Already, a lot of former cricketers expressed their concerns on it and the latest to speak on it is the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Australian opener David Warner got a huge reprieve on Sunday during the game against India after Jasprit Bumrah induced a chop on the stumps only to see the bails remain firmly in position. It was on the 1st ball of the second over of Australia’s chase of 353 at The Oval, Bumrah, which left the Indian players stunned.

Incidentally, this is already the 5th time that such an incident has occurred at the ongoing World Cup 2019. Experts and fans alike have been left puzzled by the ‘zing bails’ which have refused to fall at crucial times.

No team would like seeing such stuff – Virat Kohli

Speaking of the same, Virat Kohli quoted that he has never seen such thing took place in his initial career. However, after the introduction of LED stumps, this has become the often scenario in International cricket.

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli further added that no team would be happy seeing a good delivery being wasted without getting the desired result to the bowler. Virat Kohli feels that it is a frustrating sight to watch in the game of cricket.

“I haven’t seen that happen so many times in the past,” Kohli told reporters at a briefing. I’m sure no team would like seeing stuff like that. When you actually bowl a good ball and then you don’t get the guy out. Especially, the ball hits the stump and the lights don’t come on, or the lights come on and the bail comes back on to the stump.”

Recently, we came across Michael Vaughan suggesting an interesting change to the rule. He wants batsman should be declared out if the LED light flashes. Even though if the bails fail to come out of their groove, Michael Vaughan wants the batsman to be adjudged as out if the bail flashes.

Well, it would be interesting to see how the International Cricket Council would counter this issue. With the game of cricket already becoming a batsman’s game, the rules need to be in favour of the bowlers.
