ICC World Cup 2019: Virat Kohli Refuses To Make Any Sensational Comment On Mohammad Amir
Indian captain Virat Kohli, the team’s batting talisman is a player that can always be relied upon, no matter what the situation is in the match. He has demonstrated this time and time again by stepping up to the plate when most needed, and in the match against Pakistan, Kohli’s importance certainly cannot be underestimated. Meanwhile, he speaks on Mohammad Amir.
Standing in his way will be the pace bowling threat of Mohammad Amir, who had had a history with the Indian run machine Virat Kohli before and comes into the game on the back of a superb spell against Australia. In the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy which Pakistan won, Amir had dismissed Virat for a cheap score.
You have to respect a good bowler – Virat Kohli
The duo always shared a nice bond between them in the International scene. The statements on each other have always been headlined in the cricketing news when the duo shared praises on each other.
However, this time, Virat Kohli doesn’t want to make any such sensational news for TRP ratings. He wants to respect every fast bowler, who got high skillset. Virat Kohli added that he always says the same when you are coming across a good bowler.
“I am not going to say anything for different for TRPs or for exciting news. You have to respect every bowler’s strength. I just focus on the white ball or the red ball, regardless of the bowler. You have to respect a good bowler’s skillset. I said this even before the South Africa match about Kagiso Rabada,” he said.
Amir is expected to play a big role for Pakistan when they take on India in Manchester in their 7th World Cup meeting. Amir hit peak form just ahead of the India match when he broke the back of Australia’s middle order and picked up 5-wicket haul vs the defending champions on July 12.
The pace attack also included the likes of Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, and the young left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi, who can turn it around on their day. However, India clearly is the favourites in the match, with a 6-0 record in World Cup matches.
