Ahead of the marquee clash of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 between England and India at Edgbaston in Birmingham, Men in Blue skipper walked into a long hall alongside a kid to attend the pre-match press conference, but what unfolded first up, is the story which has gone viral across the social media platforms. An energetic kid had introduced Virat Kohli before it followed by a question and answer session.
The Three Lions are set to face unbeaten India in the 38th game of the ODI showpiece on June 30 (Sunday). Well, very much before the much-anticipated match, Kohli had a time with children who’re the part of UNICEF’s fundraising campaign.
Also, the impending game will help the children owing to a goodwill program thoroughly supported by the world cricket body International Cricket Council (ICC). Besides, the game will be entitled as the ‘OneDay4Children’.
In the press room, a young kid impressed one and all by introducing himself as the media managed.
“Hello everyone, we are the playground pundits and we are taking over tomorrow’s match to help raise money for ‘One Day for Children’. I am Edward, and I’ll be your media manager for the day,” a young lad said in a video made available by BCCI’s Twitter handle.
The kid didn’t stop there and went on to express his delight before taking Q&As
“I am very excited to introduce India captain Virat Kohli. Now here’s the first question.” a fan added.
On the eve of England-India clash, Kohli has responded to a question of the young girl, Neha.
There on, the young boy handed the mic to Neha.
“Hi, Virat. I am Neha. Are you excited about tomorrow’s match?” she asked Kohli.
The 30-year-old Kohli, who is the second leading run-scoring after Rohit Sharma for India at the ongoing World Cup, thanked Neha for the beautiful question.
He responded that they are very much excited about the game. He also added that it’s the first occasion that this sort of thing is taking place and they’re privileged to be a part of it. Kohli further conceded Neha that’s hopeful regarding her enthusiasm for the game.
“Yes, Neha. Thank you for the lovely question. We are very excited. It’s a very special occasion. It’s the first time this is being done. And we are very excited to be a part of such a special game, and I hope you are excited to watch the match,” Kohli said.
So far, India’s has been in imperious perform with five wins in six matches. While the Three Lions are battling for their semi-finals spot following three losses in seven games.
