Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag congratulated Team India after a comprehensive win against defending champions. The Virat Kohli led side are dominant in the proceedings from the start.
They proved why India are among the favorites to win the title. Choosing to bat first, India were on top taking only calculative risks. Both Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan brought their experience into play. They ensured that India did not lose any wickets in the initial overs.
Later on, they compensated for the slow start by amassing quick runs. Rohit Sharma went on to score a half century, while Dhawan scored his first world cup century in 2019. Virat Kohli played a sensible knock as others played around him.
Quick fire batting from Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni and KL Rahul at the end helped India cross 350 mark. The team managed 116 runs in their last 10 overs and completely dominated Aussie pacers.
The bowlers also gave India a head start. Both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah did not give any free runs. They kept their lines tight and got their lengths right in the opening spell. India took wickets in timely manner.
Finch was run out just when he was about to accelerate. On the other hand, David Warner struggled to get himself going on the day. Steven Smith played his part but Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets in one over to complete turn the match towards India.
Some valiant efforts from Glenn Maxwell and Alex Carey in the final overs was not enough for Australia. They eventually lost the game by 36 runs.
After India’s win, Virender Sehwag tweet read: “Maza aa gaya. Well done Team India. Bossed the game completely and a super victory . #IndvAus”

India have played some aggressive brand of cricket. They displayed their full potential against Australia. The win definitely sends a warning message to all other opposition teams.
With such clear win, India are expected to easily progress to semi finals now. They have undone two big teams in their first two games. Although, some tough games await, India should be able to win majority of those matches.
India are set to take on New Zealand on Thursday. The Black Caps were the superior team when the two teams met in warm up games ahead of World Cup. However, India will be looking to reverse the trend on Thursday.
