Jasprit Bumrah, who ended up as a leading wicket-taker for India at the ICC World Cup 2019, had lived upto the expectations by producing outstanding results in the ODI showpiece. Bumrah had managed to snare 18 wickets in nine matches.
The 25-year-old Bumrah has bowled remarkably well during the twelfth edition of the World Cup. He had conceded runs at an economy of 4.42, which further saw his average of 20.61.
The celebrated bowler has claimed a five-wicket haul which further saw him conceding 371 runs off 504 deliveries.
In the semi-final clash against New Zealand on Tuesday (July 09), Bumrah had bowled his heart out to cramp Kiwis batsmen for the room. Bumrah managed to pick a solitary wicket of out-of-form Martin Guptill.

The Ahmedabad-based bowler Bumrah, who had generated pace despite having a shorter run-up, had made most of the Old Trafford conditions in the semis against the Black Caps. In his quota of ten overs, Bumrah gave away 39 runs at an economy of 3.90 which included a maiden over.
Known for his consistency, Bumrah has a thinking brain to outsmart the top-notch batters on his day. The quality cricketer had played an imperative role in league stage fixtures to help World No. 1 ICC ODI ranked team to make it to the top of the team standings before heading into the knockout stage of the ODI showpiece.
While taking to Twitter, Bumrah had expressed gratitude by thanking his teammates. He has also hailed fans for their unconditional support.
Also, the paceman had thanked coaching staff and families, respectively. Besides, he culminated his tweet by saying they’ve ‘given everything’ to their World Cup campaign.
Bumrah, who played his first-ever ODI showpiece had impressed one and all for his resilient show.
“A big thank you to all my team members, our coaches, support staff, our families. And most importantly to all the undying support from all of you! We gave it everything we had!,” Bumrah concluded.
