Windies is one of those teams, who are swimming with the last hope to reach the semifinal destination. However, they got a big hurdle ahead in their journey, as they set to lock horns with the Indian National Cricket Team on Friday. Meanwhile, the skipper Jason Holder urged the young batsmen in the team to learn from Kane Williamson approach.

Batsmen Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran and Carlos Brathwaite have shown glimpses of what they can offer but have failed to win games for the team.

Brathwaite hit his maiden one-day international century in West Indies’ ultimately fruitless chase of a target of 292 against New Zealand on Saturday.

Youngsters are rock and soul of the team – Jason Holder

Speaking of the same, Jason Holder quoted that the youngsters in the team have got a fine talent to deliver for Windies, however, Jason Holder wants them to apply themselves in a matured way. He doesn’t want them to throw their kitchen sink at them every time.

“They’ve got to be the rock and soul for our team,” Holder said of his young players. “And they’ve got to set up games and learn to close them out. And great young players are great players, full stop. They get themselves in, set themselves up and they go very, very big.

Kane Williamson is brilliant:

Further, he went on to ask the youngsters to look after the game of Kane Williamson. He has been sensible and constructs his innings in a matured way before going hard at the end.

“And a guy who has done that over the tournament is Kane Williamson. Just see the way how he goes about his business, he sets it up and goes big and bats down to the very, very end.”

West Indies are languishing in the eighth spot in the 10-team table with just three points as the group stage nears its conclusion. Now, all they need is to win the remaining games of the tournament and hope the other results go according to their plans.
