Zimbabwe continued their stunning journey in the ongoing ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023 by posting a 400-plus total for the first time in their ODI history. They achieved the feat during their fourth match of the competition against the USA.
The hosts have been one of the most in-form teams in the ongoing competition. In their first game, they chased down 291 against Nepal in less than 45 overs before chasing down 316 against the Netherlands in just 40.5 overs. In their third game, they were up against two-time World Cup winners West Indies and won that game by 35 runs.

Zimbabwe post their highest-ever ODI total:
Having already booked their spot in the Super 6, Zimbabwe came up with yet another sensational performance in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023. Riding on their in-form skipper Sean Williams’ whirlwind century, the African nation posted a huge total of 408 for 6 in 50 overs.
Williams, who scored a 70-ball century against Nepal earlier in the competition, smashed a 65-ball century against the USA. The left-handed batsman smashed 174 runs in just 101 balls with the help of 21 fours and 5 sixes. Opener Joylord Gumbie scored 78 while the likes of Sikandar Raza (48) and Ryan Burl (47) also played crucial knocks.
Zimbabwe became just the 7th team to touch the 400-run mark in ODIs. The other six teams to achieve this feat are – Sri Lanka, India, South Africa, England, Australia and New Zealand. The record for the highest-ever ODI total is held by England for scoring 498 for 4.
