Former Royal Challengers Bangalore batter AB de Villiers believes that the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli will have a point to prove in the massive final against Australia in the World Test Championship final starting on Wednesday in Kennington, Oval.

Virat Kohli is expected to play a pivotal role against Australia in England. In the previous encounter against Australia, he played a fine knock of 186 in Ahmedabad in the final test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy and also performed exceptionally for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2023, scoring back-to-back centuries in the final two games.

Speaking on Jiocinema, AB de Villiers picked his former teammate Virat Kohli as the player to watch out for in the much-awaited final, as he always wants to perform in the big matches for the country and mentioned he has good records against high-quality opponents Australia and England in recent years and excepts him to do well in WTC final against Australia.

“I am just going to mention one and someone who has always been fired up with all these kinds of series, especially in the UK and Australia. Everywhere he has travelled, he wants to prove a point – it’s Virat Kohli. It’s great to see him enjoy the game of cricket and I can’t wait to see him do well in the UK again,” AB de Villiers said

The top two teams in the World Test Championship Cycle (2021-23) India and Australia will square off against each other in the WTC Final in England. Both the teams have prepared very hard coming into the final as they played brilliantly well in the last couple of years to earn their spot in historic finals.

Mohammed Siraj Is In The Form Of His Life – AB de Villiers

AB de Villiers feels that star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s absence will be a huge blow for the Indian team, as he can do damage for the team with both the new ball and the old ball, and said that Mohammed Siraj has taken up the responsibility in his absence, who is playing in the form of his life for the Indian team and believes that he can big asset for the Indian team against Australia.

“Bumrah is a big loss for the Indian bowling attack, but I do think that Mohammed Siraj is in the form of his life. He has done well there before. He has got that extra pace. He nips it around off-stump, and I think he is the biggest asset in India’s bowling attack,” Ab de Villiers added.

The Indian speedster has missed major tournaments like the 2022 Asia Cup, the 2022 T20 World Cup, and IPL 2023 due to a long-standing back injury, as he played his last competitive cricket in September 2022 in a T20 match against Australia.
