Imad Wasim Moves to 2nd Position Among Bowlers in T20I Rankings, Pakistan Maintains Top Spot
Pakistan left-arm orthodox spinner and a lusty lower middle order batsman Imad Wasim has moved up to the 2nd position for bowlers in the Latest MRF Tyres ICC T20I Player Rankings. Imad Wasim made the progress during the one-off match against England which Pakistan lost after giving a valiant fight. To be precise they lost by 7 wickets in Cardiff on Sunday during their one-off clash.
It was two years ago Imad Wasim topped the rankings a couple of years ago. He has now gone past the likes of Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan and Adil Rashid of England after bagging impressive figures of 1/24 in his allotted 4 overs. Shadab Khan had to miss the one-off T20I in Cardiff owing to illness. On the other hand, Adil Rashid failed to bag a single wicket. Meanwhile, left-arm seamer Shaheen Afridi also leapfrogged 3 positions moving to 47th from 50th position.
In the rankings for batsmen, Babar Azam cemented his top position and continued to be the No 1 ranked batsman in the format. He top scored with a well composed 65. The knock helped him gain 11 points and overtake his previous best career-best rating points of 896. Meanwhile, Harris Sohail also moved upto in the rankings moving to 141st from 218th.
For England, Test skipper Joe Root has moved a couple of places to 19th after a knock of 47. English skipper Eoin Morgan also moved three positions to 22nd following a knock of 51. It also helped him bag the Man of the Match Award.
Meanwhile, James Vince also entered the top 100 and moved to 89th while Joe Denly also moved 39 places to move to 134th position. Tom Curran also made progress of 21 places to be on 85th among bowlers.
In the latest MRF Tyres ICC T20I Team Rankings, England has gone past South Africa to secure the 2nd place in the latest rankings list. Pakistan leads the charts with 283 points. They are followed by England, South Africa, Australia and India.
