Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has brushed aside and vehemently opposed the severe allegations and lofty claims of an Afghan descent woman by saying he is ‘single’ and whosoever is doing this publicity stint must not spread the rumours.

After being embroiled in a controversy which involves an unknown woman, who claimed that the World No. 1 ranked Twenty20 bowler -Imad – was in a month-long relation with her and eventually abandoned her following the marriage proposal in London.

“Please respect my family and my privacy,” Imad said in a one-minute 19-second video.

Soon after the woman revealed that Imad had promised her of marriage while leaking the photos that further raised the question of the character of the Wales-born cricketer.

The reports suggested pictures surfaced over the internet last week and Imad reiterated he was forced to record the video statement.

“I have never made a video to refute any allegations levelled against me in the past, but I have been forced to do so this time around,” Imad added.

The controversy pushed for social media frenzy after the female leaked several photographs over the internet, as cricketers further backed the talented all-rounder.

“A fan took pictures with me and then people alleged that I got married to her,” Imad remarked.

The 28-year-old left-handed batsman Imad, who was recently the part of Pakistan winning squad of ICC Champions Trophy took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to clear the air while reiterating his reputation is being maligned before the public.

Imad further added: “Then another picture surfaced and people alleged that she was my girlfriend and I was cheating on my ‘wife.’

However, to put rumours to the rest, Imad claimed the pictures doing the rounds over social media platforms were doctored.

“I request all media channels to not spread such rumours only because they need ‘spice’,” Imad concluded.

Imad made his debut in the top-flight cricket in 2015. He played 26 ODIs and 22 T20Is for Pakistan he is averaging 37.27 in 50-over format with the bat, as he bagged 51 wickets across limited-overs’ cricket.

The clarification video was uploaded by Akber Ali, who is a staffer with Aaj Urdu Pakistan, as it was eventually re-tweeted by Imad.
