In pictures: India and South Africa team reached in Indore for the 2nd ODI
Indian and South African teams reached Indore the second ODI of the series today morning. South Africa winning the first ODI at Green Park, Kanpur have taken the lead in the series. In the first ODI AB de Villiers hit an unbeaten hundred for winning cause while Rohit Sharma’s 150 has gone in vain. India will take on South Africa on October 14 for a day – night fixture.
In the last ODI Kagiso Rabada’s last over bowling ensured South Africa a 5 run victory. Imran Tahir’s two wicket haul at the end of India’s chase also helped South Africa to check India’s flow of runs. Now, as the second ODI will take place in Indore India have to bounce back in the series to level the series. Although the South African team are looking confident and well prepared for the series than India.
Since the T20 series, Indian team are yet to gain their mojo. They lost the first T20 at Dharamsala even after setting an imposing total for South Africa, the second T20 was the worst at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack as India were humiliated by South Africa. But, in the first ODI at Green Park, India dominated most the part of the match but lost in the last 10 over be it bowling or batting.
So, Indore ODI, notwithstanding, will have a much bigger impact in the series because if South Africa win then they will be just one match away to clinch the ODI series along with the T20 series. If India level the series then the thrill of the series will not dry up.
