David Warner was the man in the spotlight in the chase but never got an opportunity to play his natural aggressive style cricket, as Australia faced a top order collapse. Australia got reduced to 29/3 at the time he was at the crease leaving Warner with a huge task of absorbing the early pressure. He did put in his efforts, scoring 25 from 28 balls, and constituted for the almost all the runs which were scored in the first eight overs.

However, spin proved to be the cure to his threat once again, giving away his wicket to Kuldeep Yadav to put Australia in more trouble at 35/4.
