Shikhar Dhawan was back with the Indian cricket team and was toiling hard in the nets to return to rhythm and continue from where he left before going on a break to be with his ailing wife.
Dhawan is looking forward to making up for the lost time in the ODI’s by scoring big runs in the upcoming three-match T20 series.
Shikhar Dhawan has been on a fantastic run, of late, starting from the Champion’s trophy and is in no mood to stop. Dhawan scored two centuries in the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka and then continued his form in the One-Day series by scoring another hundred in the first ODI.
Dhawan was the major factor in India’s success, as he had scored the bulk of the runs at the top of the order. Dhawan was also the top scorer in the Champions Trophy. India has been on a fantastic run recently and is currently ranked number one in both One Day Internationals and Test matches.
BCCI tweeted a video of Shikhar Dhawan practising in the nets, as KL Rahul helped him by throwing down some balls. It was captioned ‘Welcome back @SDhawan25 #TeamIndia #INDvAUS”. Dhawan can be seen practising the dilscoop and getting the flow back. Dhawan connected the ball well even after a big lay off.

Dhawan’s comeback will boost up the Indian batting line-up which had already played pretty well in the ODI series against Australia. India won the five-match ODI series 4-1 without Shikhar Dhawan.
Now, India and Australia will play a three-match T20 series scheduled to begin on Saturday with the first match to be played in Ranchi. After this series is done, India will host New Zealand for a three-match ODI and T20 series followed by another full series against Sri Lanka.
