Australia has once again fallen to the magic of the Indian spinners, as they continued to commit the same mistakes from the ODI series. Asked to bat first, Australia got to the worst possible start losing captain David Warner in the very first over.
However, Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch added 47 runs in just 34 balls. The former once again fell prey to Yuzvendra Chahal, and the downfall had since started, as they managed a mere 118/8 in 18.4 overs as rain Gods made their presence felt. The match was then reduced to six overs for Indian innings with a target of 48. The hosts managed to cruise to an easy win, as they continue their dream run across all the formats. Speaking after the game, Warner said:
“We will try and be better next game. At the end of the day, we didn’t deserve to win. The bowlers did an okay job. I don’t really have an answer for our struggles in T20Is. It’s disappointing, and we’ll see how we can improve that.
“He’s (Behrendorff) from Perth, and he’s got nice bounce and pace. I’m looking forward to playing more games with him in Australian colours,” he added.
