IND vs AUS 2017, 3rd T20I: When Tim Paine’s Advice Cheered Up Adam Zampa?

Being a genuine wrist spinner, one expects the colourful Adam Zampa to be among the wickets in every game.

If you are a leg spinner in Australia, the chances are that your career will be far from an easy one, as time and again, there will be numerous comparisons made about your ability with a certain Shane Warne.

Zampa faced somewhat similar expectations in an initial couple of years of his career, and that is why the tour of India was going to be a challenging one for him. The blond-haired leg-spinner played in three of the five ODI’s, as he picked up four wickets.

However, those four wickets came at a cost, as the wrist spinner was taken for plenty in every outing. In particular, Zampa got battered in Chennai by all-rounder Hardik Pandya, and the leg-spinner seemed scarred.

Post his impressive outing in the second T20I in Guwahati; the leggie admitted that advice from Tim Paine cheered him up.

“Watching from afar in Australia, Paine said that I didn’t look like my usual self and how I usually am in the Big Bash,” Zampa said. “He said that competitive side of me wasn’t there.”I don’t like hearing that about myself, so I was pretty fired up about that.”

“We spoke last night about improving and getting better, and we felt during the ODIs that didn’t happen,” Zampa said. “We’ve trained really hard, and trained specifically and hopefully now we can make it 1-all in terms of having won a series each.”
