IND vs AUS 2017, 4th ODI: Twitter Reacts as David Warner’s Century Propel Visitors to a Big Total

Riding on David Warner’s century and Aaron Finch’s 94, Australia posted 334 for five in the fourth One-Day International at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Australia’s decision to bat first got fully justified by openers – David Warner and Aaron Finch, as they sent the Indian team on a leather hunt with a record partnership.

Unlike this year’s Indian Premier League, the pitch did not have much for the spinners, and with the boundaries being short, the hard-hitting duo fully capitalised on it. The pair became more dangerous as the game progressed and just with nothing working, Virat Kohli handed over the ball to part-timer Kedar Jadhav.

Well, the move paid off, as Warner ended up mistiming on at long-on to get dismissed for a well-compiled 124 off 119 balls. Meanwhile, the 231-run stand between Finch and Warner is now the highest opening stand for Australia against India. The previous best was 212 between Geoff Marsh and David Boon.

However, just when it looked like Australia would correct their past mistakes by capitalising on the start, Umesh Yadav dismissed Finch and captain Steven Smith in quick succession to reduce the visitors to 236 for three from 231 for three. Peter Handscomb and Travis Head stopped the rot with a 63-run stand before Head was sent back by Yadav.

The mini-collapse, nevertheless, did not derail the innings, as the visitors collected 86 runs off the last ten overs.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the innings:
