The 30-year-old Warner served as a stand-in skipper for Australia, in the recently concluded three-match T20I series after regular skipper Steven Smith flown home while nursing the shoulder injury.
The Sydney-born Smith picked the injury during the practice session ahead of the Ranchi fixture on October 01. Pertinently, the T20 series decider was called off due to the wet outfield at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on October 13.
Promising prospect and senior campaigner in the Australian set-up, Warner reiterated he is unhappy for not seeing the game taking place.
“Sorry about last night Hyderabad,” Warner remarked.
On Friday evening, the soggy outfield culminated the bilateral series, as Warner was pumped up at the home ground after leading Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“I hope to see you all again next year,” Warner concluded.
Interestingly, Australia was one-down in the series, the all-round show from the visitors in Guwahati made the series interesting after being routed 4-1 in the 50-over competition.

In an unfortunate incident soon after the Australia won convincingly by eight wickets in Guwahati, the rock was hurled at visitors’ team bus when they were returning to the hotel. One of the Instagram users in response to Warner’s post termed the unpleasant incident ‘sad’ as many asked him to return back to the country as soon as possible.
Warner, who played his role in the ODI series alongside Aaron Finch, saw the middle-order crumbled under pressure which eventually led them down against a quality side, in the top-flight cricket.

However, Warner struggled in the T20Is, as he scored eight in Ranchi and two in Guwahati, before revealing he is excited to perform at his IPL home-base which unfortunately saw the game gettig abandoned.
Active on social media, Warner was praised by his fans for showing the sportsmanship spirit.
