India’s tour of Australia has given fans some great memories, although India did not enjoy much success in the ODI’s on their tour Down Under in 2016. The match played in Sydney will be remembered by the fans as one of the greatest run chases by India in Australia.

The Australian team posted a mammoth 330/7 in 50 overs, thanks to centuries from David Warner and Mitchell Marsh. The Australians had already won the series coming into the match with a 4-0 lead and were in no mood to take their foot off the pedal in the last ODI.

The young Indian team came out to bat in the second innings under a lot of pressure to salvage some pride by winning the final One Day match of the series.

Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma started the innings with some intent and laid the foundation for the rest of the batting lineup. The two added 123 runs for the opening wicket. Dhawan scored 78 off 56 deliveries, whereas, Rohit fell agonisingly close to a century on 99.

However, the star of the run-chase was Manish Pandey, who scored his maiden ODI hundred (104) runs to take India across the finishing line with two balls to remain. It was the only positive for the Indian team apart from winning the T20 series 3-0.
