4. 9th Match (Benson and Hedges World Championship of Cricket at Melbourne, 1985)

The Benson and Hedges World Championship is best known for Ravi Shastri winning an Audi car as the man of the series award in the tournament.
However, earlier in the tournament, India had defeated Australia by a huge margin of eight wickets in the 9th match. By virtue of that India knocked Australia out of the tournament, and later went on to win the trophy.
It was also the first global tournament after India had won the 1983 World Cup. In the ninth game, India restricted Australia for a mere 163 runs in 49.3 overs. Roger Binny and Kapil Dev dismantled the Australian top order.
India cruised to victory in 36.1 overs, with the openers scoring 124 runs partnership helping India cruise to a comfortable victory by eight wickets. L. Srikkanth scored 93 runs off 115 balls, and Ravi Shastri scored 51 runs off 94 deliveries.
