Former Indian batter believes Virat Kohli has a good chance of breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s massive record of 100 centuries in International Cricket. Virat Kohli has currently scored 75 centuries in International cricket including the latest century against Australia in the final test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Speaking to Sportsyaari, Suresh Raina praised his former teammate for his return to form and lauded him for his fantastic century against Australia. Suresh Raina said that excepts Virat Kohli to do well in the World Test Championship final for India.
“He is in great form and has maintained his fitness very well. Played very well in the last Test match, I think he was playing on too many turning tracks. It will be fun to see him bat in the WTC final. Virat is a champion and has given India performances at crucial times. Now with the World Cup coming it is important for him to keep maintain this form,” said Raina.
The former world cup winner stressed that it is important for Virat Kohli to maintain his form with India having an all-important world cup scheduled later this year in India. As the last three ODI World Cups are won by the home team, India will look to make full use of the Indian conditions to end India’s title drought in ICC events.
Suresh Raina further continued that Virat Kohli is always in form and believes that he cross the 100-century mark set up by legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
“He has always been in form and now he is scoring centuries. That’s why they say that we should visit the Mahakaleshwar temple, performances will come. For sure he will get top 100 centuries.
Kohli made an epic comeback from the slump in form to score five hundred starting in Asia cup 2022. Virat Kohli now has 28 tons in the longer format of the game and will continue to add some more centuries to his tally.
