Virat Kohli’s dismissal in the 1st innings of the second Test sparked a wide range of controversy when Kohli was adjusted LBW by Nitin Menon. Kohli looked confident at the crease and he was batting on 44 when Matt Kuhnemann’s delivery wrapped him on pad and bat almost simultaneously. Initially, it looked like the ball hit the bat first.
The third umpire gave the on-field umpire the benefit of the doubt and went with ball-tracking which hit the stumps.
Kohli was visibly upset as he watched the replay of his wicket in the dressing room along with the Indian team coaches. Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri feels that Virat Kohli is a hard-done and the ball had probably hit the bat first.
This is not the first time Virat Kohli is dismissed in this manner, Kohli had a similar type of dismissal against New Zealand. India is bowled out for 262 runs. Axar Patel was the top scorer for India with 74 runs and Australia’s Nathan Lyon picked up a 5-wicket haul. At the End of Day 2, Australia was 61-1, leading India by 62 runs. The morning session of Day 3 will be important for both teams.
Aussie Legend Mark Waugh Opines On Virat Kohli Dismissal
Virat Kohli’s controversial dismissal has got the cricketing world talking. Kohli had been playing well before Australian debutant Matthew Kuhnemann sent the Indian stalwart packing.

Many experts and fans have been talking about the dismissal, and many expressed disappointment over the third umpire’s ‘out’ decision. Mark Waugh, who is a part of the commentary panel in the ongoing Test, shared his opinion on Kohli’s dismissal as he was heard saying:
“9 out of 10 times umpires will give that Not Out,” he said on Star Sports.
