Former Indian Coach Ravi Shastri raised his doubt over the Ahmedabad Pitch where the fourth and final test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy is scheduled. India is currently leading the series 2-1 and will look to win the final match and qualify for the world test championship final. On the other hand, Australia made a comeback into the series with a win over India in Indore.
Ravi Shastri who is currently part of Broadcasting with Star Sports raised his concern over the Ahmedabad pitch and reckoned that the pitch will definitely turn but how quickly is it going to turn will decide the outcome of the match. Ravi Shastri speaking on star sports said
“It will turn but the question is, how quickly? How long will they keep it in the oven? They kept it a bit long for this time,”
Matthew Hayden quickly responded that it would nice to have an even contest with the bat and ball in the final test as the three previous contests are dominated by the bowlers, especially spinners.
“It will be nice to see a pitch that allows both of these great batting units to showcase their skills and abilities,” Hayden said
The 60-year-old completely agreed with Hayden and stressed that fans would love to see the match going into Day 4 or Day 5 as the previous three matches were completed within three days.
“True. I think a lot of spectators around the world would want that. Batters of both teams would want that,” Shastri agreed.
The pitch for the fourth test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is expected to be a normal track that has scope for both bat and ball. According to PTI, the Ahmedabad pitch curators haven’t received any instructions to prepare any kind of surface and they were preparing a normal track. It is still unclear what kind of surface will be offered in Ahmedabad. Notably, the last two tests in Ahmedabad ended in two days.
Ravi Shastri Unhappy With India’s Approach In The Third Test
Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri slammed India’s approach in the third test following their nine-wicket loss against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar series. Ravi Shastri criticized the Indian team, as they look overconfident in their approach–and they have taken things for granted.
Ravi Shastri was unhappy with the way the Indian batters played some shots and they were over eager to dominate in this condition, he also reckoned that they’re a need to analyze and respect the conditions and play accordingly. India batters will try to score some runs in the final test and will look to secure their place in World Test Championship.
