Former Australian Captain Aaron Finch believes Jasprit Bumrah will be a huge miss for India if he is unable to recover before the  2023 ODI World Cup in India. Bumrah who has been India’s best bowler across all three formats has been sidelined with an injury since September 2022.

As many Cricket experts and fans believe the ODI World Cup this year will be the best chance for the Indian Team to end their ICC title drought, it has already hit an obstacle by injuries to main players like Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer. Speaking to Times of India, Aaron Finch asserted the importance of Bumrah in this current Indian setup.

“I think getting Jasprit Bumrah back is vital for India. He is the best in the world when he is up and running. So, if he is not available, that will probably lead to a hole in the innings in terms of wicket-taking ability because he is so dangerous,”  Aaron Finch said.

The three ODI matches series have been levelled up on 1-1 each, for the decider, the Indian team will take on the visitors on March 22 at Chennai. It will interesting match as India hasn’t lost an ODI series on home soil in the last 4 years.

You Need To Execute The Plan On A Particular Day – Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch further added it is important for India’s top-order batters to give a good start which will help the middle-order batter to be aggressive Finch said that India has very good spins option and it will more important for India to capitalize on the crunch moments of the game.

“But if the Indian opening combination, gets a good platform, then the rest of the team can be aggressive. There is power in the middle order with Hardik and Sky being there. There are not many weaknesses in the Indian team. They have got great spin options and very good fast bowlers. What will come down to in the World Cup will be execution on a particular day – a spell from a particular bowler or innings from a batsman,” he added.

India’s team failed to win a single ICC trophy post-Champions Trophy victory in 2013 under the leadership of legendary MS Dhoni, after which India failed to cross the hurdle in the knockout stages despite doing well in the league stages.
