The upcoming second Test between India and Australia will be a special one for Cheteshwar Pujara. The India batting star will be playing his 100th Test when he takes the field for the second match of the ongoing four-match series.
The right-handed batsman has been an indispensable part of India’s Test team for more than a decade now. Incidentally, Cheteshwar Pujara made his Test debut against Australia in Bengaluru in 2010 and will be up against the same opposition in his 100th Test.
Talking about his career in Tests so far, he has enjoyed a good run in red-ball cricket. In 99 Tests, the 35-year old has scored 7,021 runs with the help of 19 centuries and 34 fifties. He averages 44.15 in Tests and has a high score of 206*.

Cheteshwar Pujara to enter elite club:
On Friday, Cheteshwar Pujara will join a special club when the second Test gets underway in Delhi. He will become just the 13th Indian cricketer to play 100 Tests. He will join the likes of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid and several other greats.
Cheteshwar Pujara will also become only the second active Indian cricketer to achieve the milestone. The other player is his teammate and former India captain Virat Kohli. Kohli has so far represented India in 105 Tests.

Meanwhile, Team India are leading the ongoing series after winning the first Test at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur. Rohit Sharma & Co. had thrashed the Australians by an innings and 132 runs to take the lead in the 4-match series. A win in the upcoming Test will help India not only take an unassailable lead but also retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
