Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra praised Virat Kohli for a stupendous knock against Australia in the fourth and final test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Virat Kohli scored a century in red-ball cricket after three long years. Kohli’s knock helped the Indian team to take lead over Australia in the 1st innings.
The whole cricketing fraternity has been to congratulating the Indian maestro for his blistering knock in the fourth test match and the latest one to join former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra speaking on his youtube channel said
“Virat Kohli was looking good for a hundred and he ensured that he converted it into a daddy hundred. That’s what separates the great batters from the good. So well done to Virat for that.”
Chopra hailed Virat Kohli for his long-awaited century in the final test and added these are underwhelming numbers for someone of Virat Kohli’s calibre and also stressed that he could have double hundred if someone stayed with him on the other hand, India, unfortunately, missed Shreyas Iyer in the batting as he suffered a back injury on the Day 3.
“Virat hadn’t scored a hundred for three and a half years and has played 41 innings without a century in Tests. These numbers were pretty underwhelming for someone of his stature. I thought he would score a double hundred, but unfortunately, he ran out of partners,” Chopra added.
Kohli now has 28 tons in the longer format of the game, with a total of 75 centuries in international cricket. Many except Virat Kohli to breach Sachin Tendulkar’s mark of 100 centuries in International cricket. Kohli continued his good form since his comeback scoring an international century in Asia Cup 2022, which was his maiden T20I ton as well.

Kohli will look to take this form into the ODI series against Australia and then into the marquee Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
