Former Indian Skipper Virat Kohli is going through a poor run in the ongoing four-match Test series against Australia. His 44-run knock in the first innings in Delhi is the best score for him in the series. The former India skipper has not scored a century in the longest format of the game since scoring 136 against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in 2019.

Virat Kohli is just 42 runs away from completing 4,000 test runs on his home soil. Sehwag is the fastest to reach 4000 Tests in India in just 71 innings and Tendulkar is second in the list with 78 innings. Kohli will join the elite list of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar if he manages to achieve this feat in the fourth game of BGT.

Kohli broke the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record by becoming the fastest batter to complete 25,000 runs in international cricket. He needed 549 innings to become the sixth batter in history to score 25,000 runs or more. Virat Kohli is the only player with a combined batting average of more than 50 among batters who have scored more than 25000 runs. To date, he has scored a total of 74 centuries and 129 fifties.
Indian ace batter Virat Kohli has struggled in the BGT 2023 series with 111 runs in five innings. Virat Kohli was dismissed for 22 and 13 runs in the third test against Australia. Many cricket Pundits including Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri criticized Virat Kohli over his poor shot selection in the second innings. Virat Kohli will look to put an end to his century drought in the final test against Australia and will be looking to turn things around.
Virat Kohli Will Always Find A Way To Comeback – Ricky Ponting

Former Australian Skipper Ricky Pontin defended former India captain Virat Kohli, who has been going through a lean patch in his test career. Ponting always hailed former Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his prolific batting and his contribution to the Indian team.

“For Kohli, I have said that over and over, champion players always find a way. He might be in a bit of a drought at the moment and might be not scoring runs which we all expect him to score but he is a realist as well,” Ponting said in ICC Review.
Virat Kohli is currently playing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 and he couldn’t make an impact with bat for India against Australia. Team India has to win the last game of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 to qualify for the WTC Final in England.
