India skipper Virat Kohli once again led from the front as he scored a brilliant century to pull his team out of a difficult situation on Day 3 of the ongoing Wankhede Test against England.
Resuming on 146 for 1, the hosts lost Cheteshwar Pujara on the second ball of the day but Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli steadied the ship to take India to a strong position with their 116-run stand. The partnership was broken when Vijay was dismissed by Adil Rashid but before that he had scored his eighth Test ton to set a solid platform for a big score. However, India lost some quick wickets and were in danger of not capitalising on the strong start as from 262 for 2, they were reduced to 307 for 6. But captain Kohli held firm and scored a magnificent century to help India get closer to England’s first innings total of 400 runs. India lost Ravindra Jadeja when the score was 364 but Kohli along with Jayant Yadav shared an unbeaten partnership of 87 runs to help India grab the honours on the third day. India were 451 for 7 by the end of the day. Kohli was unbeaten on 147 while Yadav was playing on 30.

Alistair Cool firmly believes that captains are there mainly to try and win the toss and then let the game drift after that. #IndvEng

If England were a bowler short, would Adil Rashid have got the ball a bit more? Sometimes too much choice invades thought.

Murali Vijay's century. I'll settle for a cliche. When the going gets tough, the tough get going…
