Thousands of fans were in for a real treat as Mahendra Singh Dhoni, playing his last match as a captain, scored a quickfire 68 to help India A post 304 against England in the first practice tie at the Brabourne Stadium.

Fans were given free entry to the stadium to see Dhoni leading an Indian side for one last time and they did not disappoint as they turned up in huge numbers. The crowd went berserk with chants of “Dhoni, Dhoni, Dhoni” right from the word go and their desperation to watch their beloved player in action only grew after every passing over.

They finally saw him coming out to bat in the 41st over when Ambati Rayudu retired after scoring exactly 100 runs and the Ranchi star made sure to make the occasions a memorable one for his fans. After finding to time the ball initially, he got back into his groove and turned back the clock with an array of explosive shots all around the park.

Considered as one of the best finishers the game has ever seen, the 35-year old remained unbeaten on 68 from only 40 balls to help his team cross the 300-run mark. The action-packed innings was studded with 8 fours and 2 maximums.

Another man who gave the fans a lot to cheer about was Yuvraj Singh. Playing his first ODI game for an Indian team since 2013, the southpaw was looking at his fluent best and scored 56 from only 48 balls with the help of 6 fours and a couple of sixes.
