Cheteshwar Pujara has been the face of Indian batting in Test cricket for quite some time now. He has rightly followed the footsteps of former India great Rahul Dravid and has arguably lived up to the expectations.
Pujara is well-known for his patience and the consistency he brings with himself.

The boy from Saurashtra, Pujara has proved his worth time and again and is in tremendous form in the ongoing series against Sri Lanka. On a lively wicket at the Eden Gardens, he played a fighting knock of 57 runs, as wickets tumbled from the other end. His determination and will to score runs took India to a respectable total in the first innings of the first match.
In the second Test in Nagpur, he was once again up to the mark, as he along with Murali Vijay provided India with good start scoring a 209-run partnership after losing an early wicket of KL Rahul.

With his hundred in the first innings of the second Test, Cheteshwar Pujara became the fastest batsman to score 3000 Test runs at the home soil, as he took 53 innings to achieve the feat. He overtook the batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar who did it 55 innings. Pujara also became a unique record holder of batting all the eight days in this series so far.
