IND vs SL 2017, 2nd Test: Rohit Sharma Smashes Ton in Return Game; Twitter Goes Crazy
After Murali Vijay made his comeback worth remembering by slamming a century on the second day of the ongoing Test against Sri Lanka in Nagpur, another comeback man, Rohit Sharma too followed suit and scored a sublime ton against the beleaguered visitors to mark his return to the playing eleven of the Test team in style.
Rohit came to the crease when India had lost two quick wickets in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane and backed red-hot Virat Kohli brilliantly from the other end. With Rohit holding firm one end, Kohli continued to punish the Sri Lankan bowlers and reached his fifth double century off just 259 balls before being dismissed by Dilruwan Perera for 213. fastest double century in odi
Kohli’s dismissal, however, did not affect Rohit’s momentum, as he continued to play his shots and reached his century off 160 balls with the help of eight fours and a six.
It was Rohit’s first Test century in four years, and Twitterati made sure to congratulate the batsman who was playing his first Test since the Indore Test against New Zealand last year.
Here are some of the messages:
Very happy for Rohit Sharma. Perfect conditions to get the century. Ability never in doubt, hopefully for him the start of a purple patch in test cricket.

Interesting that India have gone away from the five bowlers route. Want Rohit Sharma to get game time. That means 6 batsmen could be the way in South Africa
