India was bowled out for 172 in the first innings courtesy a four-wicket haul by Suranga Lakmal. The third day of the Test match when there was no rain but the day ended with bad light stopping play. Cheteshwar Pujara was the highest scorer for the Indian team as he scored 52 runs but was dismissed early on day three.

Sri Lanka finished day three, seven runs behind India’s total. Thirimanne and Angelo Matthews scored impressive fifties but fell just after crossing the milestone. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav picked up two wickets each. Sri Lanka was 165/4 at stumps and lost just two wickets in the final session of the day.

In the mid-session show, Matthew Hayden had predicted that Sri Lanka would lose six wickets in a session to which Russell Arnold trolled the Australian on Twitter and wrote, “What ??
