Dec 3, 2017 at 12:51 PM
If Virat Kohli’s scintillating batting was not enough to cause enough problems for the Sri Lankan players in the ongoing third Test in Delhi, the polluted air of the national capital piled on the further misery.
The beleaguered Sri Lankan team was clueless as to how to get rid of Kohli who slammed his sixth Test double century. Starting the second day on 156, Kohli did not take long to get into the groove and reached the milestone soon. By the time the first session of ended, India had raced away to a commanding 500 for 5 with Kohli batting 225 off just 266 balls. The only positive that Sri Lanka got in the first session was the wicket of Rohit Sharma at the stroke of lunch.
Meanwhile, when everybody was looking forward to seeing Kohli piling more miseries on Sri Lankan players after the lunch, an alarming situation was witnessed as several Sri Lankan players including Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal were seen wearing a mask to keep the air pollution at bay. Even Kuldeep Yadav and other players were seen wearing it in the Indian dressing room.
The dramatic as well as alarming incident, nonetheless, caused a lot of buzz on the social media as the fans took to Twitter to express their views on it.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the incident:
