India batting coach Vikram Rathour asserted that they are not concerned about the form of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma in International Cricket following his brilliant century against West Indies in tough conditions at Dominica. The 36-year-old batted brilliantly with full intent in recent times looking for opportunities to score runs in the new ball in all three formats.
Rohit Sharma could inspire the team in the recent ICC events. He played his 50th test for India in the WTC final in 2023, where he scored only 58 runs in the game. In the 2022 T20 World Cup, he had a campaign to forget in Australia as captain in six matches, he scored 116 runs at an average of 19.33 and a strike rate of 106.42.
Speaking on media, Vikram Rathour said that Rohit Sharma has been doing very well for the team in recent times, as he scored a century against Australia in the 1st test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 and was hailed for adapting to different kinds of wickets on different conditions and trusts him to do well in the forthcoming games for India.
“In the last series versus Australia also, he scored a hundred. There is no concern about his batting. The good thing is that being somebody who is a stroke player, he is able to change his game to that extent [as per the situation]. He did it against Australia and here as well.”

“He understands how to play on such wickets. Knowing that you need to change your game is one thing but being able to do that is different. He can do that. He was able to execute his plans. We all know that he is a big player and he showed his potential,” Vikram Rathour said.
Rohit Sharma-led side secured a dominating innings victory over West Indies in the 1st test and they will look to continue their winning run in the 2nd test and followed by three ODIS series where he will lead the side. India will also play five T20Is on the tour, but Hardik Pandya will captain India in the shorter format.
Ajinkya Rahane Is Looking Very Poised And Balanced While Batting – Vikram Rathour
Vikram Rathour heaped praise on the India veteran Ajinkya Rahane for his comeback into the Indian team, as he feels that he is calmer in his approach after his return to the Indian team and believes that he looked very balanced during his batting innings.

“Technical modifications keep happening, but the biggest change for me what that he was calmer than before. Even when he was batting in the nets, he looked much calmer. He was playing close to his body and playing the ball late.
“He was not in a hurry to hit the ball. That is the highlight I think since Ajinkya’s comeback. He is looking very poised and balanced while batting,” Vikram Rathour added
Ajinkya Rahane made a comeback to the side after being dropped for his underwhelming performances for the Indian team in 2021-22. Following his impressive show for CSK, Rahane has made his way into the Indian side in the absence of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant and has been the best batter for India in the World Test Championship final against Australia.
