Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal slammed Indian wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson over his approach in the 2nd t20 game against West Indies as he failed to capitalize on the opportunity to bat deep for India as he went for a rash shot walking down the pitch to get stumped by Nicholas Pooran on Sunday.
The 28-year-old could not make an impact for India in the first two games of the 5-match T20 series against Men in Maroon and Team India lost the second consecutive game against the Men in Maroon after a poor batting performance and is on the verge of losing a series against West Indies after 17 long years.
Taking his youtube channel, Kamran Akmal lambasted Sanju Samson‘s batting approach in the 2nd game as he got a lot of overs to play in the middle as he was sent ahead of Hardik Pandya but failed to make an impact for the team going for a poor shot.
“He got a chance to bat a little higher, and there were a lot of overs left. It would have been the biggest statement, He is a class batter, but you need to stand up in such situations. He should be more mature in his approach. He has been around for a while now but is yet to cement his place in the team,” Kamran Akmal on Sanju Samson’s batting approach.
Sanju Samson could not put in a good performance for the team, as he failed to use the opportunity to score runs in the 1st T20 failing to help India cross the line in the game and also losing the chance to bat deep in the 2nd T20 as he threw wicket away in tough situation in Guyana.

Earlier, Indian wicket-keeper batter Parthiv Patel raised his concerns regarding the form of Sanju Samson in the given opportunities and warned that he might be running of time out of time with a lot of players waiting in the wings and feels that the Kerala batter has failed to use the given chances to perform for the team in the highest level.
“Every time Samson is not in the squad, we talk about him, but he has not cashed in on the opportunities he has availed of so far. Probably time is running out for him, maybes yes or maybe no”.
“Samson has been getting a lot of opportunities, to be honest, he is just not making the most of the opportunities that he is getting. There was only one batter who looked comfortable and that was Tilak Varma,” Parthiv Patel stated.
Samson will look to turn things around in the much-win game against the West Indies in the third T20 on Tuesday, to put a match-winning performance for India on the Caribbean soil and his form in the game will be crucial for him to make it into the Indian side for the Asia Cup 2023.
