Former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop hailed Virat Kohli for his commitment to every run in the game despite playing 500 International games for India. The 34-year-old  become the first cricketer to score a half-century in his historic 500th game on Thursday.

Virat Kohli played exceptionally well for the Indian team over the years playing some memorable knocks for the Indian team in big games. The Indian batting maestro has shown excellent composure and temperament for the Men in Blue, especially against high-quality opponents over the last decade or so.

Speaking on air, Ian Bishop heaped praise on Virat Kohli for playing the game with full commitment putting his body on the line to score every run in the game and advised young Caribbean players to take inspiration from the former Indian skipper to score a single rather than waiting for boundaries.

“Here’s a guy who’s around for 500 games, knows the value of each run, Putting his body on the line, that tells you about his commitment. I wish I could tell every youngster in the Caribbean to run like that and not wait for boundaries,” Ian Bishop said.

Virat Kohli is a brilliant batter across the three formats of the game, his domination in Cricket has been of a different level altogether and he would walk into any team in world cricket across three formats of the game.

The Indian veteran is currently unbeaten on 87* and Kohli will be hoping to end his overseas test century drought on the West Indies soil in the 2nd test as it has been close to five years for him to score a century away from home soil.
