The 32-year-old has been the best Indian batter in the T20 format of the game over the last couple of years.

The World No.1 batter Suryakumar Yadav has done exceptionally well in the middle and death overs for  India and the right-handed batter was brilliant for the Indian team in T20 cricket throughout 2022 and would be a crucial player for the Indian team going into to next four games against West Indies in the absence of senior players.

Speaking on his youtube channel, Aakash Chopra feels that the team should not be worried about the performance of Suryakumar Yadav in the 1st T20 as he enjoys this format of the game and wants the 360-degree batter to score runs against the Men in Maroon as he contribution will vital for the team’s success in the next four games.

“SKY (Suryakumar Yadav) at No. 3 – you shouldn’t read too much into one match. You shouldn’t nitpick too much. This is the format that he absolutely loves. He looks better if the ball comes onto the bat, which might happen in Guyana because it won’t be a used surface.”

“However, Suryakumar Yadav will have to score runs because, although Tilak Varma has made an amazing start, he is this team’s linchpin. India’s batting revolves around him in T20Is. So he needs to score runs,” Aakash Chopra said.

Suryakumar Yadav is considered one of the most innovative and naturally gifted batters in the world as he redefined the shorter format of the game in recent years, and can take the game away from the opponents in a short period.

“Hardik Pandya was going at a run-a-ball, although he was just accelerating at the right time, and then he got out. Sanju Samson, unfortunately, he won’t get to bat higher than this number (No. 6). So take advantage of it whatever you can,” Aakash Chopra added.

Sanju Samson could not impact the Indian team in the 1st T20 as he was dismissed unfortunate manner and the wicket-keeper batter will look to use the opportunity against the Men in Maroon in the 2nd T20 at Guyana on Sunday.
