Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is happy to bat alongside Indian skipper Rohit Sharma at the top of the order. The Indian openers once again continued their fine form in 2nd test in West Indies following their brilliant match-winning performance in the 1st test of the two-match test series.
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a much-needed start to the 1st innings, as they formed a second consecutive 100 runs partnership in two innings of the West Indies tour. The opening partnership of 139 runs helped India to be in a comfortable position at the end of Day 1 play in The Queen’s Park Oval.
Speaking to the broadcasters after Day 1’s play, Yashasvi Jaiswal is elated to open the batting alongside Rohit Sharma at the top of the order and revealed that they talk about taking the game forward in the middle after being set in the initial phase of the innings.
“It’s really nice to bat with Rohit bhaiya. We always talk about the situation, how we can go forward. Of course, we have our plans. It was really amazing to bat with him,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said.
The left-handed opener scored a brilliant half-century on Thursday before chasing the ball of Jason Holder outside the 0ff-stump to get caught by Kirk Mckenzie for well-made 57 runs including nine fours and one six in his innings.

“Everyone has their way of telling things, and everyone has experience. So I’ll listen to everything that’s said and see what suits my game and try doing that. If I’m around people who are experienced, and they are talking, there is some thought behind it.
“I really like to hear them and try to see what suits my game and try to develop my game. Getting information, experience, and learning from them – small stuff – is incredible,” Yashasvi Jaiswal added.
