Former West Indies pacer Courtney Walsh was awestruck by the bowling effort of Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj to rattle the West Indian batters to pick up a 5-wicket-haul on the morning of Day 4 to bowl out the Men in Maroon for 255 runs in the 1st innings of the 2nd test at the Queen’s Park Oval.
Mohammed Siraj bowled with a lot of heart on Day 4 of the second test picking up 5 wickets for 50 runs in the 1st innings, as the West Indian low-order batter found no clue to the fiery spell of the Indian pacer to the second new ball, thus joining the elite list of Jasprit Bumrah and Kapil Dev of picking up 5-wicket haul in the Caribbean soil.
Speaking On Jiocinema, Courtney Walsh was impressed by the Indian bowler’s spell on Day 4, as they tried to swing the ball with the second new ball, which eventually helped the Indian team pick up wickets on the game and lauded the bowlers for understanding their roles and responsibility in the team.
“I was impressed with the two seamers. The control that they showed, the swing that they got with the new ball, obviously, as a fast bowler, that is what you like to see. It was good to see them bending their back and getting the rewards for it.

I Am Going To Make Sure I Lead And The Other Bowlers Follow – Courtney Walsh On Mohammed Siraj’s Approach
“So he has put his hand up and said ‘listen, I am going to make sure I lead and the other bowlers follow’. Siraj took up the responsibility and he showed he is the leader of the pack in terms of the fast-bowling group. Not just because of the wickets he took, his whole approach, his game plan, and the aggression he showed.

“The gameplan he had for all the batters, right through the game I was following it. He put in the work and was rewarded well,” Courtney Walsh added.
Siraj has impressed one and all with his ability to make a difference irrespective of the conditions. He can swing and seam the new ball against high-quality opponents. He can be a valuable asset for the Indian side going forward in all three formats of the game
