Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra is surprised that Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja didn’t score a century after being well-settled in the middle alongside Virat Kohli. The 34-year-old played exceedingly well in middle overs just before being dismissed at 61 runs of Kemar Roach’s bowling.

Ravindra Jadeja has been an integral part of the Indian team since he made his debut for India and his all-around ability gives balance to the Indian team in all three formats. He has been in terrific form for Men in Blue over the past few years. The left-arm spinner can be lethal with his bowling, especially on a wicket that would assist the spinners.

Speaking on his youtube channel, Aakash Chopra was surprised by Ravindra Jadeja’s knock in the 1st innings of the 2nd test as it looked like the Indian veteran going to score a century on the Caribbean soil and reckons that he has been doing consistently well for India batting lower-order the order and hailed him for being one of the best all-rounders for India in the longer format of the game.

“Ravindra Jadeja was there with Virat Kohli. I was slightly surprised he didn’t score a century here but I was feeling that he is all set for scoring a century. He has been brilliant if you see his performances in the last two years. He is second-best in the list of batters in terms of average at No. 6 or lower. We are not even talking about the wickets.”

“If we see his career, he has gone beyond the double of 2500 runs and 250 wickets. There is no doubt that he bats very well and he is shouldering the responsibility even better now,” Aakash Chopra maintained.

Ravindra Jadeja is a crucial player in the middle order for India being the lone left-handed batter, as he can walk into the team in different situations. Jadeja has been in terrific form for India over the past few years and will look to contribute to the team’s success in the future.

Ravichandran Ashwin Should Carry Them In Pocket Wherever He Goes – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra hailed Ravichandran Ashwin for a brilliant half-century against the Men in Maroon in the 2nd test as his form against the West Indies has been phenomenally in both home and away soil and reckons that he was looking very good in the game.

“Ashwin carried on from where Jadeja left. He likes West Indies so much that it seems like he should carry them in his pocket wherever he goes. He has scored a lot of centuries. Here also he scored a half-century and in the end, he was playing at a run-a-ball, fours here and there. He was looking very good,” Aakash Chopra concluded.

Ashwin has been the standout performer at home and he has improved his record in foreign conditions over the last few years contributing with both bat and ball in the longer format of the game. He would be crucial for the team’s success with the ball in the bowling innings.
