Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has picked up the probable India squad for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 later this year. The marquee event is scheduled to be hosted by India From 5 October to 19 November 2023. Ten teams will participate in the tournament including defending champions England and heavyweights India and Australia.
All eyes will be on the Indian team as players and fans will be hoping for the Indian team to finally end their long wait for an ICC title. The Men in Blue have failed to do well in ICC competitions in recent times including their failure in the 2023 WTC final.
Some positions in the side have already been claimed in the Playing 11 such as by captain Rohit Sharma, an all-rounder’s slot by Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja, and a slot in the middle-order by Virat Kohli. A few spots like wicket-keeper, pacer, and spinner spot are up for grabs in the team.

With the ODI World Cup scheduled to start in three months, many former Indian cricketers have selected their choice of team for the mega event in the country. Cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has picked up his choice of the 15-men squad for the ODI World Cup later this year in India.
Manjrekar’s 15-men squad is led by the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma at the top of the order alongside the young Indian opener Shubman Gill, who has impressed everyone with his ability in the shorter format of the game and has surprisingly picked Indian veteran Shikhar Dhawan as the third choice opener in the team, who has found himself out of the team following his poor form.
In the middle order, he has picked the Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli alongside KL Rahul in the team and has selected the Indian wicket-keeper batters Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson in the team for the marquee event.

Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya make it to the team as the all-rounders as the Indian team has performed well in ODIs over the last two years and it was largely due to the balance in the team with all-rounder chipping in with both bat and ball in crucial junctures to seal some important games for the tea.
Indian bowling duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav make into the team as they can be spinners for the Indian team in ODI Cricket, as they have played well for the Men in Blue white ball cricket and the former Indian cricketer has picked four seamers in his squad with comprises of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna in the team.
On the Notably omission, Manjrekar has excluded Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, and Axar Patel from the team and it will be interesting to see the Indian squad for the ODI World Cup later this year in India, as they will look to continue the win the ICC trophy after 10 long years.
