Rohit Sharma’s captaincy came under the scanner following India’s defeat against Australia in the recently-concluded World Test Championship final against Australia in Kennington, Oval. The 36-year-old failed to lead the Indian team to the ICC title in the 2022 T20 World Cup–and WTC final.

India suffered a humiliating 209-run loss against the Pat Cummins-led side in the ultimate final, as his team selection, bowling changes, and field placement in the much-awaited final raised a few eyebrows as he could not inspire the Indian team for the ICC title after 10 years long years.

Speaking on his YouTube Channel, former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal wants the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to lead the team from the front, as he wants him to bring in some energy on the field just like former Indian skipper Virat Kohli to inspire the youngster to perform for the country.

“It’s a balanced team. The Indian team needs to have a good start. I want Rohit Sharma to do better with the captaincy. Show your presence on the ground like Virat Kohli used to do. He has got a chance. (Having said that), Rohit Sharma has done a decent job so far after what went down with the Kohli saga,” Kamran Akmal said on his official YouTube channel.

Rohit Sharma was one of the white-ball skippers in the country, as he led Mumbai Indians to five successful titles in the Indian Premier League the Indian opener has also led the Men in Blue to the 2018 Asia Cup and Nidahas Trophy title, but could not make a real impact for India leading side from 2021.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma could not bring the best out of their players since he took up the mantle from ace batter Virat Kohli, as he failed to win a major trophy captaining the side in Asia Cup 2022, T20 World Cup 2022, and WTC Final 2023.

The 36-year-old will have a huge test in his captaincy skills as the team will play the Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023, as he will look to prove his worth at the highest level as the Indian skipper

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli led the team from the front during his tenure as the Indian team captain, as he was exceptional with the bat for the Indian team during his captaincy, as he batted the Indian team out of trouble in many matches, especially on chases.
