Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli has achieved this massive feat with the catch of Romario Shepherd in the 18th over of the 1st ODI off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery. The 34-year-old currently occupies the fourth spot in the most catches list alongside legendary New Zealand skipper Ross Taylor in the ODI Cricket.

Despite not batting in the 1st ODI, Virat Kohli has entered the record books following his sensational catch in the slips to achieve this feat in 50-over cricket. The former Indian skipper took a stunning catch at the first slip as India spinners rattled the West Indies batters in the 1st ODI of the three-match series.

Sri Lanka legendary skipper Mahela Jayawardene leads the list with 218 catches in the ODI format followed by Ricky Ponting and Mohammad Azharuddin in the most number of wickets in ODI Cricket and Virat Kohli now has 142 catches in One-day format and he would like to add on some more catches going forward into his last few years in International Cricket.

Winning the toss, India opted to bowl first on the wicket that had assistance for the bowlers, as the Indian bowlers utilized the conditions to their favour to bowl out the Men in Maroon for just 114 runs. Earlier, prolific Indian batter Virat Kohli surpassed the record of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s number of centuries after 500 International games on Friday. The Little Master had 75 International centuries after 500 matches whereas Kohli has 76 hundreds after his brilliant hundred against West Indies on the 2nd test in The Queen’s Park Oval.

The 34-year-old also went past South African legend Ab de Villiers in the list of most centuries against West Indies in International Cricket, as he scored his 12th hundred against the Men in Maroon in International Cricket and just one hundred behind Sunil Gavaskar’s record of 13 centuries against them.
