Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour believes that the great strength of the Indian batting maestro is his ability to adapt to the different conditions in the world. The 34-year-old has been a massive contributor to Indian cricket over the last decade and a half in Cricket.

Virat Kohli has been spearheading the Indian batting attack over the last decade or so. He has played exceptionally well for the Indian team over the years playing some memorable knocks for the Indian team in all three formats of the game.

Speaking to the media, Vikram Rathour believes that cricket is all about adaptability and hails the former Indian skipper for his versatility to change according to the match situation and the requirements of the team and lauded him for gameplay in different situations. Kohli batted exceptionally well in the tough conditions at Dominica before being dismissed on Day 3.

 “As a batting coach, I believe that cricket is about adaptability. He is an aggressive player who likes to dominate definitely but a better player is one who can change his game.

“A player who can play according to the conditions and team requirements is better. This is his biggest quality. He can play different forms differently. He can change his game according to the conditions,” Vikram Rathour said.

“He showed it on a wicket that was turning a lot. The way he defended against the left-arm spinner was a lesson for many youngsters,” Vikram Rathour added.

Virat Kohli has scored 75 centuries and 130 fifties in International Cricket, producing some remarkable performances for the Men in Blue. He has been one of the greatest batters of this era as he scored runs all around the globe and established himself as one of the modern-day greats in cricket.

Vikram Rathour hailed Virat Kohli for his consistency in the last seven to eight years in International Cricket and feels that any player is bound to fail in their career and feels that he had batted brilliantly well in the last three years despite not scoring many centuries.

 “Virat’s good form continued for many years. He scored runs consistently for 7 to 8 years. The cricket logic says that the lean phase was about to come. When he lost the momentum it went on for some time”.

“Out of five years, he didn’t score a hundred approximately three of them went in Covid. The games took place in breakages or with restrictions. There is not much to look at because he is batting well. The way he is playing he will score a century,” Vikram Rathour added

The prolific batter batted on tough conditions in the 1st test and scored 72 runs in the 1st test and Kohli will be hoping to end his overseas test century drought on the West Indies soil in the 2nd test as it has been close to five years for him to score a century away from home soil.
